We’re supporting Holocaust Memorial Day

January 24, 2018 By Diogenes

This week Mr Worthington has been delivering a brilliant and thought-provoking assembly in support of Holocaust Memorial Day on Saturday 27 January. The theme this year is ‘The Power Of Words’. Mr Worthington focused on the following:

  • What the Holocaust was
  • The sort of words and images used by the Nazis about the Jews in the years before the Holocaust
  • What has been written and said about the Holocaust since 1945

Mr Worthington finished with a message for us all today: One of the lessons of the Holocaust is surely that, in the age of social media, it is more important than ever that we weigh our words carefully, especially when discussing emotive issues such as migration and the threat of terrorism.
