The new half term began with a Scholastic Book Fair, which ran all week.
Students were given the opportunity to visit the Book Fair throughout the week and the library was opened until 7pm on Wednesday 2nd November to allow families to get involved.
The Book Fair was a whole school and community reading event, aiming to inspire young readers and promote literacy, as
well as earning free books for our school.
Mrs. Potts, our School Librarian, said “The Book Fair was a big success. It has helped to raise the profile of the library, with many more students requesting library passes. It was great to hear students recommending books to one another and debating which authors were better.”
There was a lot of positive feedback from students and many were asking when the Book Fair would be coming back. Cheryn Byrne, Year 8, said “I liked the range of books available. We went to the fair in our English lesson and it’s really shown how many people love books.”
The library is open for all students from 8am before school and until 4pm after school. The library is also open during break and lunch for students who have a library pass. Any students who would
like a library pass can ask at reception or see Mrs. Potts in the Library.
