As part of our new, even bigger and better rewards scheme, several hard-working students were ‘treated’ to a Halloween-themed trip to Blackpool recently. These particular students were invited to take part in this free trip as a reward for their outstanding behavior for learning grades in lessons.
Here’s a student’s eye-view of the day:
“Our first visit of the day was to the infamous Blackpool Tower Dungeons! The Dungeons boast a full cast of brilliant actors, 10 shows, lavish sets, special effects and an exciting drop-ride. It’s a 60-minute journey through 1000 years of Lancashire’s murky past.
Each of the shows was based on genuine Lancastrian history and legend (minus the boring bits). On our journey, we passed through Lytham Priory, saw and felt the effects of the plague, visited Lancaster Castle’s fearsome torture chamber… and experienced the Wars of the Roses. Mrs Moran’s screams, it was generally agreed, were by far the loudest of the day!
As if that wasn’t enough, we then went in seek of further thrills on the pier, where we even managed to drag a reluctant Mr Tyler onto the waltzers!
As the adrenaline wore off, we sat down together for tea and then took a leisurely drive through the famous Blackpool Illuminations on our way home.”
Mrs Moran and Mr Tyler said: “It was a wonderful experience for staff and students alike and gives a taste of what is to come for future rewards trips!”
