Year 10 students had the opportunity to work with glass artist Robbie Macoy. Miss Rapple explains what was involved.
I was thrilled that Year 10 fine art students had the opportunity to take part in an all-day workshop with a full-time glass artist for a project in partnership with Merseyrail. Robbie Macoy kindly volunteered to spend time with students to help them design glass art installations that will be placed in Bidston and Wrexham train stations.
Students were highly engaged throughout the day, using skills acquired during their exploration into stained glass and abstract composition to produce exciting designs that impressed Robbie immensely.
All students produced work worthy of recognition. The most popular pieces of the day, winning a prize from Merseyrail and which Robbie will take forward and develop, came from Dane Cottrell, Nathan Threlfall and Sharmin Khan.
