Curriculum
At Key Stage 4, students receive dance lessons every week, preparing for the BTEC Dance/Performing Arts qualification. During lessons they learn to express themselves in a safe and welcoming environment. They also have the chance to attend extra rehearsals and after-school clubs located in our wonderful new dance studio.
Students are introduced to different cultures and dance styles – from modern contemporary dance to traditional flamenco. They learn about technique and how pieces of movement are put together. They get to create their own group dance using the information they have researched about famous choreographers and dancers.
