Students working towards their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award are completing a course in First Aid as part of the ‘Skills’ section of the award. The First Aid training will be certificated by St John Ambulance and, to complement this training, students completed a theory and practical session of CPR training from the British Heart Foundation, delivered by Mr Cross.
The students used ‘mini-Annie’ CPR resuscitation dolls to practise the correct operation of ‘chest compressions’ and ‘rescue breaths’ to assist with anyone affected by cardiac arrest.
Further CPR training will be offered to form classes by Mr Cross in order to provide additional awareness for Ridgeway students.
